eyesthatbye has a blog that asks what superpowers would you like to have and this was my response:
When I was a kid, I was a fan of Marvel Comics and the inferior DC Comics (You know, the only reason DC may have been inferior was that they had alot of the 'old school' superheros at the time - Superman, batman and robin, wonderwoman, the flash, thor -I think even the Fantastic Four- and Marvel had all the flashy new guys, Spiderman and ......okay, I can't really think of any other Marvel Comics heros from the 1970's but they were there!)
What was I talking about? Oh, who would I be? I think maybe Wolverine! He was human, tortured and given superhuman powers, not of his own will or design or birth. In otherwords, he became a superhero the hard way - by experiment!!!!
Speaking of experiments, Dr. David Banner through experiment became The HULK. I think he was a Marvel Comic guy as well, wasn't he? I like Wolverine better because he was basically indestrucible, could whip out 12" knifes from between his knuckles and still looked good in dress clothes. The HULK? Uh, Once Dr. Banner came down off of his anger induced coma, he had a lot of explaining to do to the tuxedo rental agency.
I like being human and yet, possibly being able to kick someone's ass so badly and with deadly force if necessary that the Wolverine is it for me! Of course, Spiderman satisfies some of my same qualifications but he needs a suit to be anonymous and he seems sort of "wierd" spinning webs all over the city. Who cleans up after him?
